Dangerous Goods by Air Awareness
Awareness-level training on the carriage of dangerous goods by air (passengers, cargo, mail, stores). Accepted by the Helideck Certification Agency (HCA) for offshore helicopter operations. Aligned with ICAO Technical Instructions Part 1, Chapter 1.4 and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (Categories 7, 8, 9).
Dangerous Goods by Air Awareness
This awareness level training is intended for all relevant staff with responsibilities concerning the carriage of dangerous goods by passengers, as cargo, within mail or as stores and the staff of operators performing any of the following functions:
- Ground handling
- Storage and loading of cargo
- Storage and loading of baggage
- Passenger handling and security staff responsible for screening passengers and their baggage
The course has been accepted by the Helideck Certification Agency (HCA) and applies to offshore based personnel involved in helicopter operations. Training is in accordance with Part 1, Chapter 1.4 of the ICAO Technical Instructions and Section 1.5 of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulation, Categories 7, 8 and 9.

Reflection
This was a very interesting course providing me with the awareness as above which I hope to be useful for the future.
Building on my background in aircraft engineering, this training strengthens my understanding of safe operations across the aviation ecosystem — from design and maintenance through to handling, loading, and passenger processes. Knowledge that I hope to put to good use.
