First Principles Between the Infinities

Looking Up to Infinity, Looking Down to Infinity

Science, Engineering and IT is something I really enjoy. Studying aircraft engineering has taught me first principles in many aspects. Even to this day I run to the window when I hear an unusual aircraft sound that doesn’t sound like a normal aircraft — is it a Spitfire which randomly flies around the area, is it a Typhoon, Chinook or a heavy transport aircraft that is flying to an RAF station? I understand the theory on how it all comes together to make this metal object take flight — just amazing.

My curiosity has also led me into the night sky. Looking up and seeing the Milky Way is another astonishing moment of my life — to this day I am in awe. Looking into space and time, potential travels to different planets which are light years away, light years in itself! How crazy is it that someone decided to use light as a unit of measurement! To add on that, what’s faster than traveling by light? Well, let’s fold time and space! If that’s not thinking outside the box then I don’t know what it is!

Looking up to infinity, into space clouds aka nebulas where I am insignificantly meaningless!

Then as one looks up, one must also look down — the quantum world. I recall an episode of Dexter where he shrank himself so small past the particles and subatomic particles that he himself went into another world! It makes me wonder if that’s how life is. String theory, how everything is connected somehow because in multiple dimensions we are nothing but shadows of our higher self.

Looking up to infinity, looking down to infinity and I am here. Right in the middle typing into a console for this to be published by my Agent. Supporting me in this little blue planet of mine I call home.

Thinking in first principles is really one hell of a mindset. Thinking on how to define issues, define metrics to help break down a problem into smaller components then building from that like Legos — I look forward to seeing my final artwork, my final cathedral, my final masterpiece that will hopefully provide a service to my fellow mankind, be it a 100% human or a bio-human which may cause some form of debate in the future.

That’s what I wanted to point out in this self reflection — the ability to break a problem down into its core principles, create variables which may sound stupid but actually work for that problem. I think that’s what it means to be a scientist; the ability to take a step back and break down a problem in theory through hard questioning from the understanding of multiple disciplines and of course engineering, building what has been somewhat proven into something that actually works.

I enjoy what I do but life’s way of moving me left to right is an interesting push and pull method — I aim to do good by building this castle however I also need to make decisions which may alter my current trajectory as a comet flies past a galaxy or worse, with the wrong decision lead to hitting an immovable object.
